Bed of Restful Slumber

These are heavy, ornate, 4-poster beds with elegant bedding, usually found in the houses of affluent nobles.  Anyone who lays in the bed after the sun sets will sleep peacefully for at least 8 hours, negating any curses or other effects that would prevent the user from getting a restful night's sleep.  While sleeping, the user of the bed cannot be disturbed by any attempts to rouse the sleeper, unless they are removed bodily from the bed.  After sleeping at least 8 hours, the user awakes refreshed with all the usual benefits of a full night's rest and a +2 circumstance modifier to Charisma for 16 hours due to feeling well-rested.  If the user is removed from the bed before waking at the end of the 8 hours, all effects and restful sleep gained are negated.

Caster Level: 8th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Sleep; Market Price: 19,000 gp; Cost to Create: 15,000 gp (bed) + 2,000 gp (item creation) +160 xp; Weight: 300+ lbs.; Source:  KingsTears@aol.com.

Bed of Fitful Slumber

These are heavy, ornate, 4-poster beds with elegant bedding, appearing exactly as a Bed of Restful Slumber.  Anyone who lays in the bed after the sun sets will sleep fitfully for at least 8 hours.  While sleeping, the user of the bed cannot be disturbed by any attempts to rouse the sleeper, even if they are removed bodily from the bed.  After sleeping fitfully at least 8 hours, the user awakes exhausted with none of the usual benefits of a full night's rest (no hit points recovered, cannot prepare spells) and a -6 circumstance modifier to Charisma until the user can get a full night's sleep due to feeling ill-rested.  The user will only be able to get a full night's rest 2d6 days after having slept in the cursed bed, even if he only slept there for a little while.

Caster Level: 8th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Sleep, Bestow Curse; Market Price: 19,000 gp; Cost to Create: 15,000 gp (bed) + 2,000 gp (item creation) +160 xp; Weight: 300+ lbs.; Source:  KingsTears@aol.com.

Hospital Bed

This simple goose-feather bed is found in rare pilgrim sanctuaries and high temple infirmaries.  Any person that rests in this bed for 24 hours under the care of a pious healer will be effected as if a Heal and a Greater Restoration spell had both been cast upon them.  The most innocent, humble, and weak persons needing such care within the sanctuary are permitted to use the bed first.  If more capable or powerful persons use their influence or deceit to use the Hospital Bed, they do not receive the benefits of the bed, but are Cursed instead and their maladies cannot be treated by magic for 3d4 days.

Caster Level: 15th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Heal, Greater Restoration, Bestow Curse; Market Price: 180,000 gp; Weight: 100 lbs.; Source:  KingsTears@aol.com.

Traveler's Hammock

This simple canvas hammock is desired by many adventurers looking for a safe and comfortable rest after a long day for thwarting villains.  Anyone sitting upon or resting in the Traveler's Hammock is surrounded by a faintly perceivable force barrier that protects the traveler and the hammock from temperature and the elements as the spell Leomund's Tiny Hut. This barrier does not extend more than one foot from the traveler or the hammock. The traveler can freely leave and return to this area of protection.  Further, putting up the Hammock activates an Alarm spell centered on the Hammock for the duration of it's use.  The Alarm is mental and effects only the person that put the Hammock up.

Caster Level: 5th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Alarm, Leomund's Tiny Hut; Market Price: 18,750 gp; Weight: 2 lbs.; Source:  KingsTears@aol.com.
